Mobile Back-up Power for Extreme Conditions in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia is characterised by vast desert areas, extremely high temperatures and significant levels of airborne dust. These harsh conditions pose a major challenge for any electrical system, where reliability and mobility of power supply are essential to maintain continuous operations.

Genesal Energy developed a project specifically tailored to this environment, based on multiple truck-mounted generator sets designed to operate reliably even under the most demanding circumstances.

A Mobile and Autonomous Solution

The client required an agile, reliable and robust power source, capable of moving across Saudi territory and operating without interruption in critical situations. Furthermore, the generators had to withstand particularly challenging environmental conditions, including temperatures exceeding 55°C and high concentrations of airborne dust.

In response to these requirements, the engineering solution consisted of designing 18 truck-mounted generator sets capable of providing immediate back-up power in the event of grid failures, maintenance operations or emergency scenarios.

Designed to operate reliably even under the most demanding circumstances.

Each unit is equipped with a 450-litre stainless steel fuel tank, providing more than 24 hours of autonomy without refuelling and ensuring continuous operation in critical situations.

These units were built with oversized components, special filtration systems and optimised ventilation systems suitable for high temperatures. They also incorporate exhaust gas treatment systems, automatic changeover switches for adaptation to different electrical networks, motorised cable reels providing up to 25 metres of power output, quick-connect Powerlock outlets and a multi-connection box, ensuring maximum operational versatility.

Among their additional features are rotating warning beacons, reflective elements for enhanced night-time visibility, extendable ladders, fuel and oil level indicators, and external drainage points for fluids.

Tailored Engineering for Reliable Performance

Genesal Energy’s engineering team adapted each generator set to the specific environmental conditions, ensuring the solution was agile, durable and fully operational under extreme circumstances.

This project reinforces Genesal Energy’s commitment to delivering reliable power wherever it is needed most — even in the world’s most challenging environments.

Bringing our international expertise to DataCloud Global Congress 2026

Creatividad de Genesal Energy del DataCloud Congress

The need to process, store and ensure continuous access to digital information has made data centres a cornerstone of today’s economy and energy reliability plays a decisive role.

Genesal Energy is part of this transformation. We are attending DataCloud Global Congress 2026, one of the leading international meeting points for the sector, taking place from the 2nd to the 4th June at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes.

The event will bring together some of the most relevant players in the data centre ecosystem, from design and engineering specialists to operations and maintenance professionals in digital infrastructure. It is an ideal setting to share our perspective on the role of energy in high-demand environments, where ensuring operational continuity is essential.

Energy tailored to critical environments

We are attending alongside our technology partner Baudouin, which shares our comprehensive approach and focus on adaptation to each specific environments when tackling the most demanding projects.

From stand 28, we will showcase how we understand energy in critical infrastructures. We do not believe in standard solutions, but in engineering capable of anticipating, adapting and responding to increasingly complex requirements. Because every project is unique—and so should be the solution behind it.

This approach is fully aligned with principles such as eco-design, energy performance optimisation and compatibility with alternative fuels such as HVO, integrating efficiency and sustainability into every project. The goal goes beyond ensuring supply: it is about doing so intelligently, efficiently and in line with the sector’s evolving demands.

International experience on the ground

Our presence at DataCloud is also an opportunity to share our journey. We will highlight how we have delivered large-scale international projects, from data centres in Northern Europe and key interconnection infrastructures between Ireland and France, to remote environments in Norway where energy reliability makes the difference between operating… or stopping.

The need to process, store and ensure continuous access to digital information has made data centres a cornerstone of today’s economy.

Each generator set designed, manufactured, tested and delivered is part of a project that reinforces the idea guiding our work: being where we are needed most, ensuring that energy never fails—even in the most demanding conditions.

Cannes is an opportunity to listen, learn and contribute to an evolving sector. As the digital future is built on reliable energy, Genesal Energy works every day to be part of that foundation. Guaranteeing solutions that support growth, innovation and transformation.
