Airport Generators
Total
We guarantee energy supply in the event of a system failure with generator sets for airports, transport hubs, and critical infrastructure, specifically designed to meet the needs of each installation. We make sure that airports, railway stations, logistics centres, and transport systems never stop.
Where nothing can fail
Critical facilities are strategic infrastructures that provide essential services such as healthcare, security, transport, or energy management, and whose operation is indispensable for society. These include airports, hospitals, railway stations, logistics centres, the power grid, pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, and medical or pharmaceutical research centres. Yet when we use these services, we are rarely aware of how vital electricity is to keep them running.
Without power, a hospital’s emergency department could not operate, nor could patients receive vital care. At an airport, take-offs and landings would be impossible, endangering passenger safety. And what would happen if the power failed in a train station or on the road network? The result would be chaos.
Guaranteeing energy supply
To prevent such scenarios, all critical infrastructures must safeguard their power supply. Vital systems must operate under any circumstances. While the main power grid is reliable, it cannot guarantee supply in every situation. This makes a redundant power source, such as an airport generator set, essential.
A generator is a highly secure machine which, when properly configured, can provide the necessary electrical power even in the most extreme conditions. Whether in a hospital, an airport, a railway station, or a logistics hub, generator sets ensure that power remains available for long periods, keeping safety uncompromised.
Planes can take off, land, or divert safely while passengers leave the airport. In hospitals, operations can continue, intensive care patients remain supported, and life-support machines stay energised.
Generator sets
always ready
In every critical situation and in every essential infrastructure, generators for transports and airports must be extremely robust, reliable, and perfectly adapted to each facility’s energy requirements – now and in the future. To guarantee 100% reliability, proper maintenance is essential. The process does not end with manufacturing and delivery: control and monitoring tasks are also key.
Keys facotrs for generator sets in critical installations
Generators in critical infrastructure must be designed with great precision to detect grid failures and connect immediately. Users must not experience interruptions, even for a fraction of a second. To find the optimal solution, the following aspects must be carefully considered:
- A detailed on-site study of the installation, analysing loads and dividing them into essential and non-essential.
- The fuel tank size: it must be large enough to guarantee uninterrupted supply and capable of refuelling while operating.
- Preferably, several machines should be installed to operate in parallel as one unit. This way, if one fails, the system can still function partially.
- At least an N+1 configuration is recommended, along with a thorough earthing study (using an IT grounding system maximises generator availability).
- Finally, maintenance is a critical factor in ensuring continuous reliability.
Tailor-made solutions
