Design and manufacture of a special 550 kVA generator set with a marine engine for the Norwegian market
/0 Comments/in Applications, Naval Industry Norway/by GestorDesign and manufacture of a special 550 kVA generator set with a marine engine for the Norwegian market.
In this case, the goal was to supply emergency power to a boat to ensure electricity supply at all times.
In the event of a possible mains failure, the boat’s work system must not be interrupted, as this would cause considerable financial losses.
With this in mind, here at Genesal Energy we designed a made-to-measure genset, complying with the requirements established by the client. We will continue our commitment with Northern Europe, a market in which we’re stronger day by day.
Features
- Marine-type engine

The Saudi Embassy in Chad is powered by Genesal Energy
/0 Comments/in Applications, Construction Chad/by GestorFour generator sets designed and manufactured made-to-measure.
The Saudi Arabian Embassy in Chad is powered by Genesal Energy, through four generator sets designed and manufactured made-to-measure, in two sets of two different power ratings: 1,000-1,100 kVA and 1,500-1,650 kVA respectively, prepared for parallel operation.
The four gensets are designed to guarantee a constant and failure-free power supply, 24/7, 365. If ever there were to be a failure in the mains power supply, both gensets would start up; as long as loads don’t exceed 80% power of one of the gensets, one of them will stay in operation, powering the loads, and the other will stop; but if the load reaches 80%, the other genset would operate in parallel with the other, powering the loads.
In parallel
Likewise, in the event of the failure of one of the gensets operating on its own, the other will start up, providing redundant operation.
As well as its parallel, redundant, power-managing system, the units manufactured by Genesal Energy for the Saudi Arabian Embassy have the particularity of including a power outlet adapted to the client’s needs, constructed with a bus bar capable of holding up to four cables per phase of 630 mm2 at the genset breaker’s outlet.
Features
- Special bus bar at the the genset breaker’s outlet to hold up to four cables per phase of 630 mm2.

Emergency power to guarantee security in a Data Centre in Madrid
/in Applications, Data Center Spain/by genesalOne of our latest ‘turnkey’ orders has been the delivery, set-up and installation of two 1,250 kVA gensets, model GEN1250T, for a data centre in Madrid.
Comprehensive service is one of our strong points, an element that sets us apart because we offer the client the possibility to have a project that’s one hundred percent specialised from the beginning to the end of the process, right at their fingertips.
Data Centres or Data Processing Centres (DPCs) are specially designed environments which house complex and modern computer equipment, from computers to storage or network systems. They are facilities in which any electrical failure is a catastrophe as these types of instances can paralyze companies and risk the great amount of information they manage. For this reason, generator sets are vital in Data Centres as the service they provide must be continuous, without interruption.
In this case, we designed two special gensets for our client with the goal of adapting them to the data centre. Both have special base frames which fit into the very same structure that held the previous units, which were already almost 20 years old and obsolete. The gensets were, therefore, tailor-made. At Genesal Energy we took care of all bureaucratic procedures (Municipal procedures, street cut-offs…), as well as all loading and unloading works.
Besides, the gensets were transported to and installed in the building, causing the least possible impact in the area, which is why these tasks were carried out during two consecutive Sundays: the dismounting of the old units and set up of the new ones.
Features
- Parallel operation between the units.
- 2,000 A motorized genset breakers.
- Level sensors in the genset’s fuel tank for the management of the external fuel transfer system.
- Modbus RS-232/485 communication module.
- Remote alarms in the form of dry contacts.
- Engine cooling liquid recirculation and heating system to provide the correct temperature at start-up.
- Spring type Silemblocks underneath the unit’s baseframe along with the engine-alternator assembly’s anti-vibration mounts to achieve a greater insulation.
Backup Generator Systems for Deportivo Alavés Mendizorrotza Stadium
/in Applications, football stadium, Soundproof generator sets Spain/by GestorThe expansion of Mendizorroza stadium in Vitoria, home to Spain’s La Liga football team Deportivo Alaves, will include energy designed by Genesal Energy.
Should the mains system go down at any time, the Genesal Energy generator will automatically kick in (pun intended), guaranteeing that the thousands of fans watching the match will not miss any of the action in the newly expanded stadium.
The Mendizorroza stadium is undergoing an investment of 50 million Euros, which will include an increase in capacity from 19,800 seats to 32,000. The 62% addition in spectator capacity forms a part of one the most ambitious undertakings to ever happen in the history of Deportivo Alaves. Overall, the expansion is not just about remodelling the stadium, it will also have a positive impact on the surrounding areas.
Settings such as Mendizorroza, are not only used for top flight Spanish football matches, they are also used for large events such as concerts. It means the role of the genset is fundamental in guaranteeing with efficiency the safety and continued enjoyment of events which congregate thousands of people in one place.
To ensure efficiency and peoples wellbeing are met, the genset supplied by GENESAL ENERGY is very special, designed with a high capacity and an oversized alternator to meet the load peaks that will be demanded from it. The genset offers 650kVA emergency power rating in a sound proofed cabin, and employs a highly reliable engine prepared to immediately take on the required loads in any circumstances should the mains grid itself fail. While also maintaining constant and stable frequency and voltage values.
Oversized Alternator
Another of the peculiarities of the genset is its oversized alternator, for supplying the energy needed to the stadiums metal halide lamps. Both in luminosity and colour, these types of lamps are considered very high performance. They do however have an issue, which is the very high voltage peak reached in the start-up and a switch on phase of between 5 and 10 minutes when cold.
The oversized alternator is chosen because the lights will be switched on by the generator when they are already “hot” from being in use via the mains grid. After a mains grid failure this heat causes a highly reactive charge due to the voltage intensity passing through the condensers, which could destabilise the gensets voltage if it is has not been calculated correctly.
Soundproofed in a specially prepared room
Conscious of the issues faced, Genesal Energy has chosen an alternator specifically designed to supply the required load and re-establish stadium lighting in the minimum time possible.
The Mendizorroza stadium genset includes an electric motor which permits a constant level of frequency for continued power supply, and can recuperate very quickly from the sudden load impact during start-up.
Whilst the genset could easily be installed in the exterior, in this case a made to measure room will be used to place the generator inside, therefore reducing sound emissions and affording a much better acoustic environment in the surrounding area.
