We receive the Digitalisation and Innovation Special Award at Banco Santander’s 2026 SME of the Year Awards

The sustained growth of small and medium-sized enterprises is one of the key drivers of any regional economy, particularly when that growth translates into job creation, technological innovation and international expansion.
With this in mind, Banco Santander, through its Santander X platform, recognises each year the companies that best embody these values. At the tenth edition of the awards, we received the Digitalisation and Innovation Special Award for the province of A Coruña.
An industrial journey built in Galicia
From our headquarters in Bergondo, we have spent more than three decades designing, manufacturing and maintaining generator sets, building a track record that has established us as a leading company in the backup power sector. We closed 2025 with a turnover of €35 million and a team of 175 people, figures that reflect the company’s sustained growth and international outlook, which has taken us to more than 40 countries across five continents.
This global reach goes hand in hand with strong local roots. From Galicia, we continue to create jobs, contribute to economic activity in our region and strengthen our international presence, supported by solid foundations that allow us to approach the future with ambition and the capacity for further growth.
Bespoke engineering at the heart of our approach
Behind this recognition is a business model built around bespoke engineering, enabling us to adapt each solution to the specific requirements of highly demanding sectors such as data centres, defence, healthcare, industry and critical infrastructure. This technical versatility, combined with the reliability of our systems, has been key to positioning us as a trusted supplier wherever continuity of power supply leaves no room for error.
Further recognition at a time of expansion
This distinction comes at a time of significant growth for Genesal Energy and reinforces a roadmap built around five strategic pillars: industry, internationalisation, innovation, sustainability and digitalisation.
From our Generlab Technology Centre, we continue to drive innovation projects aimed at developing an increasingly efficient energy model, while strengthening our After-Sales Service through advanced remote management systems that improve operational availability in critical environments.
With this new recognition, we add another milestone to a journey that, more than thirty years after it began, continues to grow from Galicia with a clear focus on international markets.
