‘Own the terrain’: essential power for defence operations

Under the campaign concept ‘Own the terrain’, at Genesal Energy we highlight our ability to develop power solutions specifically for the defence sector, combining operational reliability, bespoke engineering and in-house European manufacturing. This approach is particularly relevant at a time when European industrial capabilities and strategic autonomy are becoming increasingly important.

We design and manufacture generator sets for military applications, tailored to the STANAG requirements applicable to each project. Our solutions range from compact, transportable units to high-power systems for permanent operational bases, with AC or DC configurations, water- or air-cooled systems and modular designs that can incorporate redundancy and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Our experience in the defence sector is reflected in projects delivered across a range of operational environments, subject to the confidentiality requirements inherent in this field.

To meet the challenges of extreme conditions, we develop solutions with reinforced structures for transport over unpaved terrain, protection against dust, sand, water and moisture, and preheating and filtration systems adapted to particularly demanding climates. Where operational requirements call for it, we can also incorporate engines compatible with military fuels such as JP-8 (F-34).

In certain projects, operational discretion is just as important as power output. That is why we develop solutions featuring advanced sound attenuation and, depending on the requirements of each application, systems to reduce thermal signatures, specialist protective coatings and lighting adapted to tactical environments.

Our engineering and manufacturing capabilities are supported by management systems certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 56001, alongside ISO 14006 for ecodesign, a certification we were the first company in the generator set sector to achieve.

Our experience in the defence sector is reflected in projects delivered across a range of operational environments, subject to the confidentiality requirements inherent in this field. Our references include two 300 kVA generator sets for the Spanish Military Emergency Unit (UME), integrated into a container and designed for disaster response operations and locations without access to the electricity grid; two fully operational power plants supplied for a mobile 3D radar system; five models of soundproof generator sets for NATO military telecommunications equipment in Europe; and a 150 kVA unit for critical military operations in Germany.

Each of these projects demonstrates our ability to develop solutions tailored to the power, mobility, autonomy and continuity of supply requirements of each operational environment.
