We supplied an emergency generator set for a telecommunications company in Valladolid

Emergency power is an indispensable service in telecommunications companies as their task consists of providing service to a large number of mobile networks. In the event of a mains failure, this kind of facilities must guarantee the service not only to avoid claims or economic losses, but also to maintain their prestige with their customers.

At Genesal Energy we have supplied an emergency generator set for an installation of these characteristics in Valladolid. The company needed a special emergency genset with a “turnkey” service to be located outdoors to guarantee the continuity of the electricity supply in the event of a power failure, as the UPS batteries had limited autonomy.

The client also requested that Genesal Energy managed the whole transport and installation process, which included the processing of municipal permits and the crane service to move the generator set to the roof of the building, amongst others.

  • WHERE:

    Spain

  • CUSTOMER’S NEED:

The company needed a special emergency genset with a “turnkey” service.

THIS WAS OUR TECHNICAL SOLUTION:

We used a soundproof canopy to house a 330 kVA generator set. Besides, anti-vibration mountings were installed between the support beams and the ground in order to avoid the transmission of undesirable vibrations to the building structure. In addition to the 700 L fuel tank integrated in the base frame, we supplied a 1500 L double walled steel-steel tank. The connections between each tank can be varied on site by fitting manual 3-way valves. We also took care of the legalization of the fuel installation to avoid problems to the client.

As part of the integration with the control system, an RS-485 card for communication through Modbus RTU was installed, being able to remotely read all the key variables of the generator set. In addition, the most important alarms are sent to the customer through the installation of an alarm expansion module.
