Reliable power and Stage V emissions compliance for a major UK airport
04 June - 2026

Airports are critical infrastructures that depend on reliable power supply systems capable of meeting particularly demanding operational requirements.
In this context, Genesal Energy has designed and supplied a GEN440VA generator set for a major UK airport, tailored to the installation's technical and environmental requirements.
Delivering 400 kVA Prime Power and 440 kVA Standby Power, the unit features an engine compliant with European Stage V emissions regulations, combining high performance with improved control of pollutant emissions.
Reliability and regulatory compliance
The main objective of the project was to provide a reliable power solution with sufficient autonomy, suited to the operating conditions of an airport infrastructure where power availability is essential.
One of the unit's key features is its compliance with Stage V emissions requirements, which set limits for certain air pollutants. This responds to the project's environmental requirements without compromising generator performance.
The solution was also developed with careful consideration of equipment integration, maintenance and control, as well as the acoustic requirements specified by the client.
Compact design and high performance
Genesal Energy's engineering team developed an open-type generator set with compact dimensions and a configuration tailored to the specific requirements of the installation.
The design includes a 750-litre fuel tank with a spill containment tray, providing extended autonomy, together with an additional silencer to meet the acoustic limits specified by the client.
One of the unit's key features is its compliance with Stage V emissions requirements.
The unit also features a Deep Sea DSE8610 control panel, an 800 A circuit breaker suitable for synchronisation, a preheater to facilitate starting and sockets compliant with UK standards, among other components.
These features provide a solution tailored to the needs of critical infrastructure, combining reliability, control and compliance with the project's technical requirements.
