Emergency generator set to bring drinking water to citizens in Cameroon

30 April - 2026

In some developing countries, drinkable water supply is a rare commodity.

In the African continent, numerous communities live in conditions of extreme poverty, and the consumption of contaminated water causes many illnesses.

In Cameroon, we’ve just supplied emergency power for a water treatment plant. In this specific project, the water treatment equipment fits inside a 40’ container. These are portable systems, prepared to operate on rough terrain, which is why in these cases, generator sets are absolutely indispensable to keep everything operative and guarantee drinkable water supply.

The African market

At Genesal we designed a bespoke 100/110 kVA generator set with an autonomy of 42 hours at 100 percent load. Furthermore, given the disposition of the generator set inside the container, it was necessary to incorporate an engine whose control and maintenance components were all on the same side as it would only be accessible via one of its sides. These are its features:

Features

  • Maximum required power rating of 110 kVAs in standby.
  • Remote control panel to be able to operate the generator set from the whole system’s control room.
  • Fuel tank integrated into the baseframe with a capacity of 1000 litres in order to provide 42 hours autonomy at 100% load.
  • Engine specifically selected to have all control and maintenance elements on the same side to improve the operability and maintenance of the unit.
