{"id":39618,"date":"2021-04-30T10:14:40","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T10:14:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nueva.genesalenergy.com\/en\/?p=39618"},"modified":"2024-11-27T10:22:46","modified_gmt":"2024-11-27T09:22:46","slug":"emergency-power-for-a-photovoltaic-plant-in-the-chilean-region-of-atacama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genesalenergy.com\/en\/case-studies\/emergency-power-for-a-photovoltaic-plant-in-the-chilean-region-of-atacama\/","title":{"rendered":"Emergency power for a photovoltaic plant in the Chilean region of Atacama"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Our extensive experience in the manufacture of customised generator sets is a guarantee for our clients.<\/span> <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In Chile, a country in which we\u2019ve already participated in the construction of a thermosolar power plant and a photovoltaic power plant in Cerro Dominador, high up in the Atacama desert, we\u2019ve just supplied an emergency generator set for a very special project: to power the alternating current auxiliary services of a photovotaic solar plant\u2019s substation in Region III, Atacama.<\/p>\n<p>With <strong>28 megawatts<\/strong> in power and an investment of <strong>78 million dollars,<\/strong> the plant is one of the country\u2019s greatest power projects, and has the approval of Chile\u2019s Environmental Impact Assessment\u00a0(EIA). It\u2019s composed of <strong>13 blocks of two megawatts<\/strong> each and two blocks of one megawatt respectively, and features <strong>114.000 crystalline solar modules<\/strong> and tracking systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In order to provide the best service, our engineering team carried out an in-depth analysis and examined the area\u2019s special conditions, an essential step in providing the most adequate solution.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And so, both the startup and the shutdown of the genset will occur through external commands and will be able to operate in parallel to mains.
