This publicly owned hospital with over 400 beds and 50 consultation areas, employs 1,800 people. Each one of the 5 buildings within the complex contains a Genesal Energy emergency power genset.<\/p>\n<p>Power cuts in hospitals can lead to critical situations for patients and the doctors and\u00a0nurses that care for them. It is obviously vital that these types of buildings can continue to\u00a0function and must not be brought to a standstill.<\/p>\n<p>The high consequences of a power cut mean it is essential to install back up systems that\u00a0will continue to supply electricity to all the systems, ensuring the medical teams and\u00a0doctors can continue their work ensuring that patients continue to receive healthcare.<\/p>\n<h3>Project aims: Emergency Power at Quito Sur Hospital in Ecuador<\/h3>\n<p>Due to the risks presented by a power cut the client required a solution that would\u00a0incorporate gensets with automatic start-up (AMF). GENESAL ENERGY designed six\u00a0generator sets with different voltages and power ratings, to meet the clients needs in\u00a0relation to the different load requirements for each building. The objective; a guaranteed\u00a0power supply in the event of a mains failure permitting the hospital to carry on as normal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-31801\" src=\"https:\/\/genesalenergy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/N-6685-2_R-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Designed for high altitude<\/h3>\n<p>The gensets supplied can give the necessary power at an altitude of 2,800M above sea\u00a0level, bearing in mind that at this altitude there is less oxygen in the air, meaning the\u00a0gensets mist work harder.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally the solution had to account for the need to install gensets that would not cause\u00a0noise contamination, and for this reason soundproofed gensets were supplied with the\u00a0exhaust system at the top of the canopy.<\/p>\n<h3>Characteristics<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Top canopy exhaust system.<\/li>\n<li>Automatic fuel transfer from external fuel tanks.<\/li>\n<li>Pre-heating resistance included.<\/li>\n<li>Automatic start-up due to mains failure.<\/li>\n<li>Ethernet connection.<\/li>\n<li>PMG excitation system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ecuador\u2019s Government installs Genesal Energy generator sets in the Quito Sur Hospital, the largest and most modern hospital in the country.
